SeepGuard is a unique water and mold resistant baseboard with a protective barrier that inhibits water from penetrating the drywall. This modification protects the drywall from the vast majority of water damage, which will keep the wall dry and safe.
Water traveling on the floor as a result of plumbing, drainage, and appliance failures and leaks are seeping under the baseboard and coming into contact with the drywall, resulting in both the baseboard and the wall getting wet and as a result a destruction of the wall and the development of mold .
Mold will grow on the wet walls and baseboards as they both serve as a perfect surface for mold growth.
The required remediation and wall repair can get very costly. All wet and moldy walls would need to be removed and disposed. Sanitation of the inner wall , replacement of drywall, and reinstallation of new walls and finishings will be needed . Quite often there are other high costs involved such as mold testing and clearance as well as replacements of cabinets. Not to mention the major inconvenience .
A mold resistant material Baseboard which creates a separation between the floor and the wall
SeepGuard baseboard covers the gap of the drywall separation from the flooring, creating a new standard of flooring /baseboard /drywall installation that will keep the area from absorbing humidity and the development of damaging mold and contamination.
SeepGuards' simple and easy installation process will prevent costly damages and keep the area CLEAN, DRY & HEATHY
RJF Environmental Consulting Services Inc. Findings of Trial Water Testing On PVC Baseboard Product
Test Date: Thursday September 17, 2020
Observations: This letter is to attest that we observed and witnessed a water test in an actual apartment that had a portion of a traditional baseboard (Marked T) and drywall soaked from the tile floor with 9 gallons of water. It was compared to a portion of drywall with a SeepGuard designed PVC baseboard trim installed on it(Marked SG), to check the level of moisture present after the water was applied to both areas equally that were next to each other.
Results: We observed and found the right side (the traditional drywall and baseboard trim), was saturated according to our infrared camera and moisture meter readings ,which were at 40% about 3 inches above the normal baseboard trim for approximately 8’ in width which reflect a very high level of humidity.
We observed the PVC baseboard marked ‘SG’, side and drywall above. It was dry for the approximate same 8’ in width with a moisture meter reading of 9-11% after being exposed to water on the tile floor, which reflect a normal level of humidity.
Opinion: This PVC insert baseboard trim product marked ‘SG’, works by not allowing drywall materials to absorb water by the way it is designed to fit under the drywall at the bottom near the floor and because of the PVC material it is made out of.
Applications: This new product can be used during the replacement of water damaged materials by all professional remediation contractors as a replacement product to standard baseboard materials.
General Contractors can use this product on new installations of baseboards and on new construction sites for both commercial and residential customers.
We were thoroughly impressed with the findings of this trial test.
"In our community we face many water damages that cause significant damage to the walls, especially when mold begins to develop. The association bears responsibility for drywall replacement. SeepGuard makes so much sense. I will certainly recommend this baseboard in our community as it serves as a preventive measure for the association."
"I believe that there is no better time to offer home owners a product that will protect their homes from water damages, as insurance companies continually reject liability for water claims. I think that there is a strong possibility that insurance companies will provide policy discounts to consumers who opt for the protective SeepGuard design."
"Water infiltration due to spills and maintenance leakages are common in the building & lodging industry. Now with SeepGuard we have a promising product that can be specified as a preventive method to avoid the extensive damage of water seepage & subsequent mold propagation over adjacent wall surfaces."
"SeepGuard is an essential product in water protection. As a licensed plumbing company, we encounter this issue on a daily basis. Finally, there exists a product that can stop water in its tracks and prevent the costly routine of repair. SeepGuard is a game changer and will most likely enter the mainstream market in no time."
I have been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. In my experience, the most common and devastating losses to property come from water damage. A significant number of water claims we service results in mold damage. Once the drywall gets wet, there is typically no option but to tear it down and replace it."
This new product can be used during the replacement of water damaged materials by all professional remediation contractors as a replacement product to standard baseboard materials.
